Protect private folders on your Mac.
Some privacy problems are not app-based. AppLockr can protect local folders too, including local folder encryption for sensitive files you do not want casually opened.
What folder locking is for
Folder locking is useful for PDFs, school or work documents, personal archives, screenshots, exports, and files that do not belong inside a single app. The goal is to make private local content harder to open casually when your Mac is already unlocked.
Local-first by design
AppLockr is not a cloud vault. It is a native Mac utility designed to protect content on your Mac, with no telemetry or ad-based tracking.

Good privacy habits still matter
For highly sensitive documents, keep FileVault enabled, maintain backups, use a strong Mac password, and avoid sharing administrator access. AppLockr adds app and folder-level convenience; it does not replace full-disk encryption or account security.
